VA Home Loan Requirements and Eligibility for Military and Veterans
For this program, there are certain requirements. Let’s go through them and see how we can help you get started.
Eligible borrower requirements
To be eligible for the VA loan, the individual had to be in active duty (181 days during peace time or 90 days during war time), had to be a Guard or Reserve member for at least 6 years, or is a surviving military spouse.
The home being financed must be your primary residence in order to qualify for this program.
A certificate of eligibility from the VA is needed to apply for this loan. We can help with this. Your Embrace Loan Officer is experienced with the VA Loan process and its requirements and will obtain your VA Certificate of Eligibility from the VA using a copy of your DD-214. Your Loan Officer requests this electronically, saving you time and paperwork, keeping the loan process moving. As with any loan, these standard items will be needed: pay stubs, tax returns and W2s, your employment history, bank and investment statements and documentation of any real estate assets.
At Embrace Home Loans, we value and honor the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. We’re happy to assist you with your home purchase or the refinance of your current home and we’re here for you if you have questions. Contact us today!
