The rating of our overall experience was not made upon the work or interaction with Rich, Lisa, Lanetta or other Embrace staff. The entire system of obtaining a loan is invasive. Continually having to provide another piece of nonsensical information immediately that will just be put in a file, just because the form says so is very frustrating and expensive. While Rich, Lisa and Lanetta did their best, it was frustrating. It may have been the VA's problem Our suggestion is that if one is going to use the VA that ALL information needed should be provided in a comprehensive form with timelines needed for reports, etc. Sign forms online, if a form has a lifespan indicate as much. Do not have an emergency email for a form that needs to be signed 7 day prior to closing. Having to get an emergency email to sign a form which can't be electronically signed means one has to stop what they are doing and immediately print the form, sign it, scan it and then email it back. There must be a better way. Another example, having to have a water test on a well that was tested and passed by the local county and town in October should not have to be retested and expedited in January at the cost of $1.900. That test data was not reviewed by anybody. It was just a piece of paper in a file. Rich and the group worked to get us a credit, but the demand by the VA was a last minute demand that held up the closing process and thus cost up money in additional interest paid out to previous building loans we were trying to consolidate. While someone in all of these systems has found the need to have such a comprehensive look at someone who is attempting to borrow money for their home, systems need to find ways to humanize the experience. We have had mortgages on our homes since the mid 1970s, never missed a payment, never late. Our income is 100% stable grows at 2% per year for the rest of our lives, the property is marketable in the 5-4m market, yet at the end of the day none of that makes any sense. Someone needs a lot of papers in a file somewhere that nobody actually looks at or needed. There just has to be a more humane system. Just our opinions. Rich, LIsa and Lanetta worked hard for us. I do not know how best to improve how others, outside Embrace do their jobs, but it would have been easier if we had had a road map of what was needed, when and if there were time frames for the data's completion. Thank you for reading this. Hopefully, sometime soon when the rates get lower we can work together again.
