Michele is a tenacious consumer advocate, who has been helping and educating homebuyers for over 20 years. Before coming to Embrace, she worked as a Community Reinvestment Act loan originator at Berkshire Bank, where she was privileged to help low- to moderate-income households, including many immigrant households, buy their first homes. Before that, she ran non-profit homeownership centers for 16 years and managed robust homeownership education programs. During the foreclosure crisis, she worked with over 600 homeowners, assisting them to secure loan modifications and keep their homes.
A Massachusetts native, Michele grew up in Newton and currently lives in Williamsburg with her two sons — William, “a math whiz” and Sam, “a musician” — and the family dog, Shiva. She attended Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. In her free time, she loves gardening, cross-country skiing at Notchview in Windsor, MA, biking, ocean kayaking and learning to sail.
In her community, Michele supports the work of the Greater Westfield Credit for Life Committee by annually participating in a high quality Credit for Life fair for area high school juniors and seniors. The fair is an engaging financial literacy event. She is also the Vice President of Hilltown Community Development Corporation’s Board of Directors and a real estate committee member.
Michele is passionate about finding the best loan for each borrower’s financial situation, helping them to achieve their goal of sustainable homeownership in Hamden and Hampshire Counties and beyond. In addition to assisting first-time buyers, she also loves helping seasoned homeowners downsize to free themselves for more travel and flexibility.
