Newport, RI – April 19,2013 – Like most companies, Embrace Home Loans recognizes the contributions of its team as part of its annual meeting each year. And, like most companies, Embrace likes to single out those individuals who went above and beyond to make a difference. This year, as the company’s President, Kurt Noyce read his speech to an eager audience of Embrace employees; it soon became clear that for each of the 12 individuals recognized, a donation would be made in their names. By the time the speech concluded, Embrace had donated $30,000 to a short list of wide ranging charities. The speech, which began with a brief retelling of the story of the Good Samaritan from the New Testament, juxtaposed the plight of an individual or group addressed by each of the charities with the challenges that each of the award recipients faced over the past 12 months. The correlation between the two stories lay not in the suffering; there is no parallel between a cancer sufferer and someone trying to close a loan, but rather in the success, empowerment, compassion and care that each individual brought to his or her job. This was a celebration of 12 teammates whose dedication, commitment and perseverance resulted in excellence. Their success was the company’s, and that success would be shared by enabling others in need to benefit. As Noyce put it near the end of his speech, “financing real estate is what we do, it’s not who we are. This is our livelihood, not our life. It’s who we are as professionals, not as people. Every employee here has a story. Every customer we serve has a story, a real, and personal story.” While other companies review annual sales figures and recap lessons learned, Noyce sees Embrace’s mission differently, “our mission isn’t about the dollars we make, but the difference we make for our customers, for each other.” And though he didn’t say it - it was clearly a source of pride for everyone assembled in that room - that once again Embrace had made a difference through its story for each of the charities. Quotes from some of the Representatives from the Charities: Cathy Doyle – Year Up, Providence - Kurt, thank you. For the very generous donation this evening, for all of Porsha’s mentoring moments, for our interns who love working with you, and for the culture of giving back that you lead .I know I speak for us all when I say it has been our extraordinary blessing to have been Embraced. Teresa Ham – Alabama Eye Bank – “your Company’s commitment to the Mikal Ann Webb Indigent Care Fund will provide assistance to uninsured patients in need of a corneal transplant.  Thanks to donors like Embrace, the Alabama Eye Bank is able to help provide the Gift of Sight to over 20 people a year that otherwise, would have no available resources to obtain a transplant.” Sabina Silvia – Ponies As Partners – “I just wanted to thank you for including Ponies As Partners in the Annual Meeting last Thursday. Mr. Noyce is a terrific speaker, obviously passionate about his commitment to the community and I really left motivated and inspired to get this year started! Embrace Home Loans has been extremely supportive of our organization, but the donation this year far surpassed anything I expected. We will be able to purchase teaching aids, equipment and a few other items that will make the children’s visits to the farm more productive and fun...Thanks again, we are so grateful for Embrace Home Loans and their financial assistance, it really does make a difference!” Ann Beach – Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – “Attending your Annual Meeting and hearing the stories behind each Teammate of the Year was truly a gift. I was very impressed with the character and values of Embrace Home Loans and its employees. Please know how much everyone at the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute appreciate your financial contribution as well.” John Mosby – Boy Scouts of America – “It was a pleasure to meet you yesterday at the Embrace Home Loans’ Annual Meeting, and to witness first-hand the powerful presentations.  Thanks so much for having me there and for the financial support as well.” Ashley DiSimone – Make-A-Wish – “Thank you for the overwhelmingly generous donation!  It was such a moving presentation and you can really tell Embrace Home Loans values philanthropy as well as their employees.  I really enjoyed listening to all of the award stories.” The Complete list of Charities:
