St. Ann’s provides emergency and ongoing care for children and families in Metropolitan Washington. It is the only facility of its kind in the region- a temporary home for infants, children and teens whose life situations prevent them from living with their families. As such, it is an invaluable tool for social agencies in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, and a critical safety net for children in a variety of circumstances.
With a staff of more than 145 full and part-time caregivers and professionals,
St. Ann’s assists hundreds of children and teens each year through various programs and operates a community day care center.
In an average year, St. Ann’s cares for more than 325 children and teen mothers who otherwise would have nowhere to go to get the services and love they need.
As a business incentive and reward for meeting and exceeding Embrace Home Loans business goals and objectives, a monthly competition between our Retail and Direct Loan Officers has been established called the “Charity of Choice” Competition. The division winners of the competition receive a charitable donation from Embrace Home Loans made out to the charity of their choice.
“Charity of Choice” Competition winners from Embrace Home Loans donate $1,500 each consecutive month to a local charity which has been nominated by the winning team and selected by its employees.
Embrace Home Loans has a culture of giving,” says Allison, “over the past 5 years alone they have donated more than $13.5 million dollars to charities both big and small.”

St. Ann's programs recognize and enhance human dignity and worth by providing residential care and services to abused and neglected children and to single pregnant and parenting adolescents in crisis, as well as quality day care to the children of working families.
Human life is inherently valuable and worthy of respect, support, and nurturance. These words encompass our philosophy. They are rooted in our Judeo-Christian heritage and are the foundation on which St. Ann's tradition of caring has been built. Staff and volunteers strive to live this belief by reaching out to the women and children in our community who are particularly vulnerable.
St. Ann's currently operates three residential programs and a community day care center. In FY 2008, more than 350 people benefited from the services provided at St. Ann's. As a residential facility, St. Ann's operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
St. Ann's provides emergency placement and short-term residential care for infants and young children, ages two days through twelve years, who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. Our goal for each child is to offer a caring, comfortable, and reassuring environment and to provide services based on a complete assessment of the child's physical, emotional, developmental, and educational needs. Each year, the program serves approximately 200-250 children.
The program offers residential care for pregnant adolescents and young mothers and their babies. Extensive services include an accredited high school, medical care, parenting classes, life skills training, day care, individual and family counseling, and social and cultural activities. The program generally serves between 50-60 young mothers and their children each year.
St. Ann's Day Care provides affordable, developmental day care for infants and preschool children in the community and in residence, aimed particularly at low-income, single parent families, working families and families in crisis. Each year approximately 75 children and their families are served.
