In 1983, Embrace Home Loans Inc. was little more than four phones and a typewriter and operating under a different brand - Advanced Financial Services. Since then, Embrace Home Loans has grown into a full-service mortgage lender, employing 550 people spanning 25 branches nationwide.

In 2011, Embrace originated $2.40 billion in loans for 15,152 customers. Embrace is an approved Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac seller, a Ginnie Mae issuer offering FHA/VA products, an originator of community development & USDA Rural Development programs, and an active member in the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Over the last six years 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, & 2006, Embrace has been ranked among the "Best Places to Work in Rhode Island” (by the Rhode Island Society of Human Resource Management, and the Great Place to Work Group); the award is underwritten by the Providence Business News, which has also bestowed Embrace with a “Business Excellence Award” for community involvement in 2006.
